£995.00

Build your confidence in adult social care and gain a recognised qualification that combines essential knowledge with assessed workplace practice.

What does this qualification cover?

The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate develops the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care in England.

You will explore your responsibilities as a care worker, communication, safeguarding, equality and inclusion, duty of care, and supporting individuals’ dignity and independence. The course also develops your understanding of safe working practices and meeting people’s care and support needs.

This is a regulated qualification based on the Care Certificate standards, with assessment of both your knowledge and workplace skills.

Study format: Online study supported by a dedicated tutor and assessor, with monthly check-ins to keep you progressing. Assessment is completed through a portfolio of evidence, including written work and observations of your practice.

Workplace requirement: You must be working, volunteering or completing a suitable practical placement in adult social care in England. NCFE requires a minimum of 40 workplace hours, although you may need more time to demonstrate all the required skills. Your role must provide suitable opportunities for workplace assessment.

Entry requirements: You must be aged 16 or over and have a suitable adult care role or placement. We normally expect your English and maths skills to be at Functional Skills Level 1 or above. You will need sufficient written English to understand the course materials and complete the assessments.

These skills will help you communicate effectively, understand instructions, maintain accurate records and use basic maths relevant to your responsibilities.

You do not need a Functional Skills certificate to enrol. An initial assessment will help identify your readiness and any support you need. If you are unsure whether the course or your workplace is suitable, please contact us before purchasing.

Duration: Typically 6–8 months, depending on your experience, progress and access to workplace assessment.

Employer funding: This qualification is eligible for the Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS). Eligible adult social care employers in England can claim reimbursement of up to £1,540 per learner, limited to the eligible costs they have paid. Funding is subject to scheme eligibility, claim approval and availability. If you are paying for yourself, speak to your employer before purchasing to explore this route.

  • Already work in care and want formal recognition of your knowledge and practical skills.
