Develop your knowledge of health and social care through a comprehensive Level 3 qualification that combines online study with practical placement experience.
What does this qualification cover?
This NCFE CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma explores a broad range of health and social care subjects, including human development, anatomy and physiology, mental health, safeguarding, and the legal and professional responsibilities involved in care. You will develop your understanding of individuals’ needs and how care services support them.
Study format: Full-time distance learning with online, self-paced study, supported by a dedicated personal tutor and regular check-ins.
Work placement: A practical work placement is required. You must complete a minimum of 175 placement hours in a suitable health or social care setting, such as a hospital, residential care home or community health centre, over the duration of the course.
Entry requirements: No formal qualifications are required, although a relevant Level 2 qualification or previous experience in a care setting is beneficial. You must secure a suitable placement, and we normally expect your English and maths skills to be at Functional Skills Level 1 or above. You will also need sufficient written English to complete Level 3 assignments, explain your understanding and reflect on your learning.
These skills will help you understand instructions, communicate effectively and take part in placement activities.
You do not need a Functional Skills certificate to enrol. If you are unsure whether your English and maths skills are suitable, please contact us before purchasing.
Your placement provider may also require appropriate DBS and other suitability checks.
Duration: 18 months.
