This official NCFE CACHE Level 3 qualification focuses on the specialised care, safety, and emotional well-being of children and young people from birth up to 19 years old within social care settings. You will study core areas such as child development, multi-agency working, and safeguarding protocols. The dedicated Social Care pathway covers deep, contextual topics including assessment and planning, promoting equality and inclusion, implementing a duty of care, and managing positive relationships with children facing complex life challenges.
Study format: Online and self-paced, supported by a dedicated personal tutor and monthly check-ins to keep you on track.
Work placement: Yes, you must be working, volunteering, or on a practical placement for the duration of this course. Because this qualification assesses your hands-on workplace skills alongside your theoretical knowledge, a qualified tutor or assessor will evaluate your real-world capabilities using direct observation in the workplace.
Duration: 18 months
Entry requirements: You must be at least 16 years old and actively engaged in a relevant social care environment. While there are no strict academic prerequisites, holding a Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience in a care environment is highly recommended. A strong standard of written English is necessary to complete the Level 3 portfolio assignments.
