£1,795.00

Gain your professional qualification as an Early Years Educator and develop the skills to support children’s learning, care and development.

What does this qualification cover?

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Working in the Early Years Sector (Early Years Educator) develops the professional knowledge and practical skills needed to care for and educate children from birth to 5 years, while also building your understanding of children aged 5 to 7 years.

You will explore subjects including child development, safeguarding and welfare, supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and promoting healthy lifestyles. You will also learn how to plan, deliver, and assess learning activities within an early years curriculum.

Study format: Online and self-paced, supported by a dedicated personal tutor and monthly check-ins to keep you on track.

Work placement: Yes, a practical work placement is required. You must be working or volunteering in a suitable early years setting with children aged 0–5 throughout the course. You must complete a minimum of 300 placement hours, with 350 hours recommended where possible. This allows you to develop your practical skills and be observed and assessed in the workplace.

Entry requirements: You must be aged 16 or over and secure a suitable early years placement with a qualified workplace mentor. No formal qualifications are required to enrol, but we normally expect your English and maths skills to be at Functional Skills Level 1 or above. You will also need sufficient written English to complete Level 3 assignments, explain your understanding and reflect on your practice.

These skills will help you communicate effectively with colleagues and families, understand instructions, and support children’s early language and number skills.

You do not need a Functional Skills certificate to enrol. If you are unsure whether your English and maths skills are suitable, please contact us before purchasing.

Your placement will also require the appropriate DBS check and safeguarding checks.

Duration: 18 months.

It’s ideal if you:

  • Want to become a qualified Early Years Educator.

  • Are currently working or volunteering in an early years setting and want to gain a regulated Level 3 qualification.
