This qualification typically takes 12 months to complete.

This is part of the Eagles Consultancy “Level 2 Teaching Assistant Package”, which means that this is a programme of study, including the teaching assistant qualification plus additional specialist course with the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 specialised teaching assistant diploma.


To achieve this qualification the student will be required to complete 11 mandatory units which include both knowledge and skills evidence. Students will need to be employed or in a voluntary placement.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working with children in school or college environment. Once completed students can progress onto a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or enter the workforce.

The aim of the qualification is to support students to achieve a qualification that will equip them to directly support teachers in the teaching and learning of pupils. The qualification will cover a wide range of areas including, supporting the development of children and young people, safeguarding, communication and professional relationships. To successfully complete the qualification students will need to demonstrate competence across both knowledge and skills-based outcomes.
