This official NCFE CACHE Level 2 qualification is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to work directly with children and young people in school or college environments. You will explore key subject areas including child development, safeguarding and welfare, supporting positive behaviour, and building professional relationships within a learning environment.
Study format: Online and self-paced, supported by a dedicated personal tutor and monthly check-ins to keep you on track.
Work placement: Yes, a practical work placement is required. You must be working or volunteering in a learning environment (primary, secondary, or special school) for the duration of the course so your practical skills can be assessed in a real classroom setting. NCFE CACHE recommends completing at least 100 hours of placement.
Duration: 12 months
Entry requirements: No formal qualifications are required, but you must be at least 16 years old and have a good standard of written English to complete the Level 2 coursework. You will also need to secure a suitable school placement.
